New Year Blessings & Go to Macau for Good Luck

Background

Macao tourism promotion network activity was launched to reach a larger target group and drive the travel sales to Macao by taking advantage of the Chinese lunar new year holidays.

Creative ideas

The Lunar New Year is the most important festival in Greater China. When a new year comes, it is necessary to say good words to friends and relatives, to bless each other, and to conduct various new year customs for auspiciousness. We have observed that in Macau locals not only bless each other, but also like to buy a windmill during the new year in the hope of gaining good luck for the coming year.

Execution

The activity was planned in conjunction of the blessing delivery mechanism of the internet community and the mobile phone screen interaction. We used Canvas Drawing & Texting to make participants be able to customize their own special blessings, used CSS 3D to make the windmill turn and used the programming technologies such as html5 and Java script to present animation during the transmission process so that users would feel it is fun and interesting and so would share the activity with other people.

Results

The activity lasted for one month and reached the number of 5,559 person-times for participating in the activity. The number of the visitors to the website reached 41,149 person-times and the number of the website browsing reached 62,491 times. The activity successfully guided the target group to strongly forward the information and to have a good impression of travelling to Macau by reaching a larger potential consumer group.
